Bio and History
Fox Creek Farm is owned and operated by Sara and Raymond Luhrman, and is located in Gallupville, in the most eastern part of Schoharie County. The farm, established in 2001, started with a wholesale crop of garlic and has grown into a 200 member CSA.
The farm started on rented land, but by 2007 the farmers stopped all outside work to make a living from the farm, and moved Fox Creek Farm to owned land – 12 acres of rich Lansing soils that are part of a larger historic 100 acre deed. The farm is leasing an additional 34 acres of the farm to provide ample space for crop rotations.
It’s our goal to operate an environmentally and economically sustainable farm, that provides outstanding quality vegetables to our customers, and provides the farmers and farm workers with a reasonable compensation for their work. Our farming practices maintain or increase soil health and productivity. We use organic farming practices. Our well established CSA operation started in 2004, and is going into its seventh season in 2010.
